Mr Pengxiang Song, a fourth year PhD research student in SEMS, has received a prestigious China National Scholarship for a Self-Financed Student.
The award was presented by His Excellence, Ambassador Mr. LIU Xiaoming, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the United Kingdom.

In addition to the certificate, Mr. Song received a prize of 5,000 dollars. Mr Song's PhD study covers experimental and numerical investigation of different metallic nanoparticles for potential energy applications and he is currently preparing to defend his PhD Viva in June 2010.

Both Mr. Song and his supervisor, Dr. Dongsheng Wen, attended the ceremony in the embassy of the P.R.China in UK in early May 2010.
