On the 23rd September 2009, James Busfield was awarded his National Teaching Fellowship at a black tie reception at Middle Temple Hall. This is the 10th anniversary of the fellowships and James joins a very exclusive club of just five others at QMUL, he is only the second fellow in the Materials subject area in the UK and the first ever in the Polymer field. The reception was held at Middle Temple Hall and he was accompanied for the evening by his wife, Rachael and Vice Principal Morag Shiach.
As a result of his innovative work on developing Problem Based Learning in Materials James has also recently been appointed as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
