Success in the London and Home Countries Branch Energy Institute Competition

24 April 2008

Ashand Namasivayam, PhD student working with Professors Theodosios Alexander and Roy Crookes, was awarded 3rd place in this year’s London & Home Countries Branch Energy Institute Student paper competition. This competition was open to all current students studying energy related subjects and undertaking research within the London & Home Counties region. Submissions took the form of a research paper addressing a question or issue concerning the energy field. Ashand’s paper is entitled “Combustion characteristics of a sustainable dual fuel compression ignition engine”. Besides the opportunities associated with this specific competition, this process is intended to help stimulate students and their supervisors to produce papers from suitable work, for submission to conferences or journals. In achieving 3rd place Ashand, has been invited to present a 10 minute summary of his paper at a future Branch event and an abstract of his papers will be considered for publication in the Energy Institute’s journals. Updates on this event will be available later.
