Prof Chris Lawn and his former PhD student, Vivek Savarianandam, have been awarded the Sugden prize by the Combustion Institute for their paper 'Burning velocity of premixed turbulent flames in the weakly wrinkled regime'. The prize is for the most significant contribution to combustion research by a member of the British Section in 2006.
