Location: | Department of Materials |
The innovation and the development of new materials drives all new technologies, from the smartest MP3 player and plasma screen TV in the electronics world to high temperature alloys and light weight impact resistant materials used in F1 applications. The development of new materials defines the various technological ages from the Steel Age in the 18 and 19th century to the silicon age for the present day. This interactive course will explore a wide range of new materials that will result in new products being developed in the next decade. Examples of which include producing smart nanotextiles and trying your hand at 3D computer aided design (CAD)
