Taster Course: Materials in Forensics
Date: | Tuesday 11 July 2006 10:00 - 16:00 |
Location: | Department of Materials, QMUL |
The course is aimed at students who want to learn how materials science can solve problems in forensic science. The day's events will take you from the scene of the crime to the courtroom. You will work in teams collecting and analysing evidence. At the end of the day your team will give its expert witness evidence. A safe conviction will depend on your skill under cross-examination. This activity will adopt a Problem Based Learning approach which is used in our degree programmes to develop knowledge and skills that can be applied by students in their future careers.
The one-day course is designed for students who have an interest in science and who are studying at least 2 sciences and/or maths at AS level.
