Title: Generative AI and Higher Education
Details: The effective use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in education is rapidly increasing, specifically at the higher education level, and educators are exploring this technology to make the best use of it. Students' extensive use of GenAI tools imposes challenges for educators to enforce GenAI-resistant assessment design. It is not easy and practical to inhibit the use of these tools therefore educators must be strategic in designing learning activities and assessments such that they can encourage students to educate themselves with GenAI technology and use tools and also foster their critical thinking process. In this talk, I will discuss different aspects of GenAI technology, challenges for teachers, and adapting teaching strategies to cope with the upcoming challenges in academia.
