Race and Identity in Academic Careers

All of us who work within academic institutions, particularly PhD students and post-docs, will care that they are largely run by older white men. Join us for a panel discussion, chaired by QMUL PhD Law student Deborah Lawunmi, left, to find out more about this important topic and how academics of colour at different stages of their career have navigated the issues that they face.

Speakers include Dr Iwi Ugiagbe-Green, Reader (Learning & Teaching) The Manchester Metropolitan University; and Dr Akram Alomainy, Deputy Dean for PGR students in the School of Science and Engineering, Reader in Antennas and Applied EM, Queen Mary University of London; Dr Tedd Moya, QMUL alum and Oxford Martin Fellow researching integrating renewable energy; and Dr John Adenitire, Strategic Lecturer, School of Law, Queen Mary University of London.
