To feedback on the last agenda item from the previous meeting, Sergey will present highlights of his new triboelectric plasma generation and gasification proposal for EPSRC. The goal of this new initiative suggested by Martin is two-fold: get your feedback about the science in the proposal and also to facilitate the update about the research initiatives across the Division as widely as possible.

Discussion of the forthcoming calls:
Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarships – there is a call for these CDTs which will be managed. There is an information session on 12th Feb which interested staff should attend.
Talent Scheme – College has an ongoing ‘Talent Scheme’ for recruiting new staff (lecturer to Prof) that would come with significant research funding (e.g fellowships, programme grants etc). Appointments are most likely if the person’s expertise aligns with strategic priority areas such as systems engineering or AI.
