Title: How innovation goes beyond the race track to deliver high performance in our lives

Date: Wednesday 29h April 2015 at 3.00pm

Venue: G.O. Jones Lecture Theatre, Physics Building, Mile End

Abstract: Geoff will talk about how McLaren apply technology to deliver high performance in racing and how the ethos translates to other fields from elite sports to healthcare. A central theme will be the power of convergence of real-time data management, predictive analytics and simulation to deliver high-performance product and process design. Examples will be drawn from wide ranging industrial sectors where a combination of a different approach to design and a culture of innovation have delivered breakthroughs in performance. A key focus will be on the evolution of solutions from F1, elite and professional sports to health and wellness. Examples will span the spectrum from bio-enhancement for the well to management of strategic interventions for the unwell.
