JRMO - EU Unit - European Research Council (ERC) Workshop

The EU Unit will be holding a one hour session focusing on the ERC grant schemes in January. The session will cover hints and tips on how to draft a successful proposal for the ERC. Anyone working on a proposal or thinking of submitting to a future call should attend. This session at 1 - 2 pm on Friday, 16th January in FB 2.40, Francis Bancroft Building, Mile End Campus. Anyone who wishes to attend should email Greg Dow, g.dow@qmul.ac.uk to register.

The European Research Council (ERC) calls for early career researchers are now open. The Starting Grants provide funding for academics who are 2-7 years post PhD and the Consolidator Grants fund those who are 7-12 years post PhD (measured from 1st January 2015).

The grants provide flexible funding for excellent researchers for a five year innovative or ground breaking project.

• Starting Grants (2-7 years post PhD)- up to €1.5M; deadline 3rd February 2015
• Consolidator Grants (7-12 years post PhD)- up to €2M; deadline 12th March 2015
