Industrial Liaison Forum/Careers Fair

11-1pm The Octagon – 3rd and 4th year poster competition.
There are now significantly more than 50 visitors signed up to attend this event. Including staff from Alcoa; Atoc; Baxter-ApaTech; CERAM; Culham Centre for Fusion Energy; Harwell Science and Innovation Campus; I.H.S. ; Jaguar; Materialise; NAMTEC ; Rainbow Medical; Rolls Royce; Selex Galileo & TWI . Feel free to ask sensible questions of any of the visitors about what they do in their companies.

12-1pm in the SEMS Seminar room – we have several of our year in industry students (from Alcoa, Fitzpatrick Referalls, Gatwick Airport, ATOC, DePuy and RollsRoyce) discussing their experience. This session is specifically for students currently registered on the year in industry programmes.

From 2pm-3pm we have three different panel sessions open for all students in SEMS.

Topic 1: Working in the field of engineering or materials after graduation. (James as chair)
Venue: Octagon.

Topic: Working in a technical area not necessarily allied to your degree. (Pihua and Vinny in the chair)
Venue: GO Jones Lecture Theatre
Alumni representing: Mango Solutions; Investment Banking; 2 entrepreneurs; Barclays; Natural History Museum …. and others.

Topic: Working in an area allied to medicine or dentistry. (Elena in the chair)
Venue: Law lecture theatre 1.00
Alumni representing: MHRA; Medical Students at QM, Dental Student at QM, Hygienist student at Kings; PhDs at Oxford; Cambridge; UCL & Leeds; Lombard medical devices … and others.

From 3pm-4pm some of the guests have agreed to meet and answer any questions that you may have on a one to one basis in the Octagon.
