Research Overview

Interests

Fariborz Motallebi's field of research covers experimental aerodynamics, which includes flow control, high-speed flows, wake flows, flow visualisation and application of model instrumentation. He is currently collaborating with the Defence Research Agency (Bedford) on the control of shock-induced separation by SBVG. Fariborz Motallebi is also collaborating with an experimental research group in the Aerospace Department at Delft, in the Netherlands. Fariborz Motallebi has experience using a variety of experimental techniques including PIV and LDV. Recently in collaboration with Dr John Cater, Professor Chris Lawn and Professor Roy Crookes has successfully secured the purchase of an advanced 3D PIV system and 2D LDV System worth more than £250K. Research Activity: Experimental Aerodynamics: boundary layers and transitional flows, Flow Control (Active and Passive) Shock-Wave Boundary Layer Interaction, Cavity Flows, Wake flows, Aerodynamics of Sport Vehicles Postgraduate Research Students: If you are interested in doing PhD in experimental aerodynamics in areas such as : Boundary Layer Flows, Flow Control & Drag Reduction, High Speed Flows and Aerodynamics of Sport Vehicles please send me an email or fill an application form.
