Queen Mary holds two sets of university-wide Open Days throughout the year, one in October and two in June.
During the Open Day, the School of Engineering and Materials Science will have academic staff, admissions staff and current students on hand to answer your questions. Staff will be available to chat to you about the modules they teach, or the admissions process, and can help distinguish between the different programmes for you. Our students will be able to tell you about their year of Industrial Experience, or about their research projects. You will also have the opportunity to see our laboratories and facilities.
If you are unable to attend, you may like to sign up for one of our Virtual Open days.
Tuesdays at 2pm, Thursdays at 11am and Fridays at 2pm*
If your visit to QMUL does not coincide with the next Open Day, you can take a campus tour. The UK Student Recruitment Office organises campus tours throughout the year. The tour normally lasts about one hour, and is intentionally restricted to small, informal groups so that everyone has the chance to ask questions. The campus tours are a great way of finding out about living and studying in QMUL. You will be shown around the campus by a current student. If you want to see a particular department, this can sometimes be arranged, but you must request this when making your booking.
*subject to booking availability
Post-Application Open Days
Once a student applies to a programme in the School of Engineering and Materials Science, they will normally be invited to a post-application information session. During this session, students will have a chance to see the campus, meet current students, talk to academics and ask any questions that they may have about their application. You will be contacted via e-mail with the date of the Post-Application Open Day.
Please note that there is no parking at the Mile End campus and that the surrounding area is a Controlled Parking Zone. You are strongly recommended to use public transport.
