The concept of high entropy materials containing equimolar mult-elements has been applied to metal alloys for over a decade and is now a well established field. In the last few years the concept has been applied to ceramic materials where interesting results have emerged. The topic raises many fundamental questions around the synthesisability, structure and properties. They open up a massive new compositional space in which materials with useful properties may be found. The workshop will have presentations covering applications in thermoelectrics, dielectrics and ferroelectrics, thermal barrier and ultra-high temperature materials.
