Description
A fully-funded Research Studentship is available in the Fluid Mechanics Group in the School of Engineering and Materials Science, Queen Mary University of London. The main objective of the PhD project is to develop multiscale computational methods for simulations of electrospraying and ink-jet printing of non-conventional inks (e.g., highly viscous, with suspending particles). The student will be jointly supervised by a team (Dr Yi Sui - multiphase flows modelling, Prof John Stark - electrospray, and Dr Rafa Castrejón-Pita - ink-jet printing) and will work closely with experimentalists in the team.
Requirement:
1, A master’s degree in mechanics, mechanical or chemical engineering, applied mathematics, applied physics.
2, Experience in developing computational fluid dynamics code
3, Being self-motivated, hard-working, and responsible
4, Being interested in science

- Available to Home/EU & International Applicants.
- Full Time programme only
- Applicant required to start in September 2017
- The studentship arrangement will cover tuition fees and provide an annual stipend for up to three years (Currently set as £16,296 in 2016/17).
- The minimum requirement for this studentship opportunity is a good Honours degree (minimum 2(i) honours or equivalent) or MSc/MRes in a relevant discipline.
- If English is not your first language then you will require a valid English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.5+ overall with a minimum score of 6 in Writing and 5.5 in all other sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking).

Eligibility
